Anyone who participates in an athletic activity is considered an athlete. It is expected that each athlete will complete to the best of his or her abilities at all times, keeping in mind the spirit of competition and of the game. It is a requirement of all Clubs affiliated with Basketball Ontario to assume responsibility for the conduct of all athletes under their jurisdiction.

Player Code of Conduct

• Play for FUN!
• Work hard to improve your skills.
• Be a team player - get along with your teammates.
• Learn teamwork, sportsmanship and discipline.
• Be on time for practices and games.
• Learn the rules, and play by them. Always be a good sport.
• Respect your coach, your teammates, your parents, opponents and officials.
• Never argue with the official's decision.
• Do not argue with the coach, the referee, your team members or opponents

Player Responsibilities

• Attend practices and games on time (arriving 30 minutes before gametime; 15 minutes before practice)
• Wear proper equipment
• Inform your coach if you cannot be at the game or the practice (as soon as possible), or if you cannot be on time.
• Support team rules and regulations
• Support the coach’s decisions
• Share all information with your parent
• Display appropriate behaviour towards referees, coaches and the opposing team and their parents
• Work hard every minute of every game and practice
• Support your teammates
• Ensure that equipment is put away, i.e., balls, pinnies,etc.
