o Atom Competitive: Mike Kennedy

Mike is a level 1 certified coach and has spent the past 2 seasons with the BGBA coaching at the novice level. Prior to moving to Ottawa Mike coached in BC at a variety of levels with both school and community based teams. Mike has greatly enjoyed his experiences with the BGBA where he has continued to coach with an emphasis on the development of both individual and team play through the teaching of basketball fundamentals. Mike is looking forward to a great year coaching at the atom level.

o Bantam Competitive: John Gartley

John is a Level 2 certified basketball coach and has been with the organization, mainly at the Major Bantam level, for 8 years. Prior to his years with the BGBA, John coached and managed girls recreational soccer in Barrhaven. John has been blessed with many talented girls over the years and has led teams to numerous local tournament victories. His teams have been very competitive at the provincial championships, which they participate in every year. John's philosophy is that every girl on the team should play in every game.

o Midget Competitive: Selwyn deSouza

Selwyn has been coaching since the early 70’s, both girls and boys, at the high school (junior & senior) and club levels. He was the Eastern coordinator for the start-up of the MDP and JDP programs in the early 80’s and has been fortunate to send 8 teams to OFSAA championships, both boys and girls. He is a Level II certified coach and has been coaching with the Blue Devils since the 2002 season with the Juvenile Team. The program has excelled over the past number of years and has won 4 medals at the Provincial Championships, 2 Gold, 1 Bronze,a 4th place finish and a placement in Division 1 this past year. He will, once again, take the reigns for the Blue Devils midget team for the upcoming season.
 

o Junior Competitive: Barry Cutler

Barry originally began coaching at the high school level where he has coached both girls and boys, junior and senior programs for the past 10 years. He is a certified level II coach who began coaching at the club level 8 years ago and joined the BGBA in 2007 at the junior level.

The junior girls team has successfully competed in a variety of local and out of town tournaments, where players have had the opportunity to showcase their talents for college and university scouts. Barry will again be bringing his coaching experience and dedication to the junior team for the upcoming season.
